LAUNCHING NEW D&T SCHEMES OF WORK
We're pleased to announce the new D&T Schemes of Work are now available on the PhunkyFoods website.
Each scheme of work focuses on a different healthy eating topic and covers key areas of the Curriculum. The scheme provides six 1 hour-long lessons, that could be delivered weekly over half a term, or over a shorter focused time e.g. Design and Technology week. The topics are introduced in fun and creative ways and pupils have the opportunity to learn key healthy eating messages alongside practical food preparation skills.
All the online resources and worksheets that are required are included, alongside Knowledge Organisers and End of Scheme of Work Assessment Tools.
We hope you enjoy delivering these and would love to hear your feedback.
NEW EARLY YEARS TOPICS AVAILABLE
Two new topics - Snack Attack and Food Waste - are now available for Early Years/Foundation Stage.
Topics contain teaching points, activity ideas, printable resources, display ideas, parental involvement suggestions, recipes, simple food preparation and tasting ideas, and more…
Fancy a healthy Christmas treat? Why not try making the Fruity Christmas Tree instead of the usual Christmas gingerbread house?
You can use any fruits you like - just remember to keep it colourful!
HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES AND FOOD (HAF) PROGRAMME 2021
Here at PhunkyFoods we've been very busy over the past year helping to deliver the nutritional education component of the Department for Education's Holiday Activities and Food Programme 2021 (HAF).
Working with a wide range of Local Authorities across England we've produced family-friendly recipe cards and cooking videos; provided nutritional education toolkits and training to private Providers, and; delivered face-to-face PhunkyFoods sessions directly to children across Wiltshire and North Yorkshire.
We're committed to this incredibly important programme and we're looking forward to even more face-to-face delivery for the Christmas HAF Programme - rolling out to South Gloucestershire, Durham and Sunderland.
If your school or holiday club providers needs support or help in delivering on this vital element of the HAF Programme, we have FREE nutrition education material available on our website. Fun games and activity ideas, and hands on food preparation ideas - check it out here.

You can also check out our Blog posts to stay updated with all of our latest resources and news. We've just posted some fun maths worksheets in support of Maths Week in England.
Maths Week is a great way to ensure no child misses out on having fun when learning maths skills. It’s all about having fun with your brain, looking for patterns, spotting connections, making predictions and solving problems.
Children get a real buzz out of working through a problem and getting the correct answer. So here at PhunkyFoods, we are supporting Maths Week by creating fun, food inspired maths problems and activities to boost their confidence. View the worksheets on our BLOG.

Bish, Bash, Bosh, We Love Squash!
A lovely story book for Early Years and KS1/First Level/Foundation Phase exploring the current hot topic of food waste. There is a bumper crop of butternut squash in Uncle Akki's allotment. He does not want it to go to waste, so Ravinder and Priya take some home and Mum and Dad see how many different ways they can eat it, in Bish Bash Bosh, We Love Squash!
